Planning the music video!

  Props:

Since my group and I decided to film a music video for the song It Was A Good Day by ICE CUBE, the props we will include is basketballs, slushies from 7-11, and an alarm clock. We will be using other props as well, but they have not yet been determined.

Costumes:

In the music video, we will have all our group members in the video. For the scene where were at the park, I will wear athletic clothes for when I play basketball. I will wear sneakers, shorts, and a tank top. The actors will wear what they want for the scenes because the music wants to show that the actors are having a good day just being themselves. The music video will show that it like any other good day.

Schedule:

On 11/12/21: Me and my group research conventions of music videos and the song, It Was a Good Day.

On 11/16/21: Me and my group establish props, costumes, schedule, location list, and backup plan.

On 11/18/21: Me and my group will have the storyboard for the music video created.

Between 11/21/21 and 12/5/21: Me and my group will film the shots necessary for the music video.

Between 12/6/21 and 12/10/21: Me and my group will edit the clips to create the music video.

Location List:

The main locations are frost park and 7-11. At frost park I will be with the other actors and we will be having fun while we get filmed. Me and my group members will play basketball and and do other fun activities. The song mentions basketball a decent amount of time so the park will be a great place to film the music video.

The second location will be 7-11. Me and my group members will get slushies. This will show that were having a good day since slushies are a tasty sweet. 

finally, the last location will be at a group mates home.

Backup Plan:

If the weather is not good, then we will reschedule the filming.  We can also film indoors showing something that shows were having fun throughout the day.

Scene 1: In this scene, me and my group will film an actor, lying in bed as an alarm clock goes off, this is then when the song will start.

Scene 2: After scene one, the next scene will take place in the kitchen of a group mates house, here breakfast will be served and it will start the day. breakfast will include items such ass eggs, bacon, and juice.

Scene 3: In scene 3, my group will film two actors walking around frost park talking, and simply catching up about their day, we will be sure to include happy facial expressions to show the meaning of the song.

Scene 4: For scene 4, the basketball will be introduced, at the gateway of the basketball court at the park, where an actor will be questioning, "who will we playing basketball with today".

Scene 5: This is when we will start a one on one game of basketball, and show different shots of us playing.

Scene 6: in scene 6, two actors out of our group will be in the same location, and act thirsty after their game of basketball, this is a transition scene to our next location.

Scene 7: scene 7 is also a transition scene, that will highlight laughter, and happy times as the same two actors walk to 7-11, a nearby gas station.

Scene 8: This scene will take place inside the store, it will show the actors getting items from the store, as they use it to cool themselves down to help continue their action packed day.

scene 9: In scene 9, we will be back at that actors house, and it will show an actor with a Lakers shirt, that will be watching the basketball game on tv, he will be excited to find out that the Lakers beat the supersonic, as it also is portrayed in the song itself.


scene 10: In this scene, it will show an actors iPhone, at their house, and how it is suddenly blowing up with notifications, this also highlights what an "exciting life" our actor has, and further emphasizes the actors good day.

Scene 11: scene eleven will be a recap of everything that happened throughout the day, it will show an actor thinking back on the day he had, and reminiscing on the highlights of it.

Scene 12: This scene will wrap up the music video, it will show the actor at their house, getting into bed, saying "it was a good day" and them turning off the lights as if they are going to sleep.

   After thorough research and thought, we've decided on the Drama genre. Horror, drama, and comedy are three entirely different genres, and are rather difficult to compare. Our pitch has a rather dark and serious aspect to it. With this, concluded that the lightheartedness of a comedy was definitely not the way to go. Aspects of a comedy include things bright and joyous lighting, fun props and light makeup. It is clear that a film capturing battles with substance abuse and addiction would not be portrayed in a breezy light hearted way. Further, popular movies under the comedy genre, like Step Brothers and Mean Girls, have none of the vision that wee see in our movie. This left us to decide between horror and drama. Production: Finding the Perfect Location

 Today I went over location of the shoot. I knew majority of the film would be shot in different places of my house. For scenes where the father is not in his daughters room, I wanted to figure out the best location. I walked around my house considering suitable settings. My mother has rather "glamours" taste, and loves to make the house look nice. This in mind, I had to be sure there were places I could take shots that wouldn't portray any sort of lavish scenery. In the scene where the father is passed out in his chair, I had a vision of a big, brown reclining arm chair. However, I do not own any type of chairs like this, just rolling office chairs. Instead, I figured I could use the end of our brown couch. My tv in room is rather plain at the moment, and has brown walls, so it seemed fitting. Title Research: Gattaca

1.  How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film?  Which ones?     There was a total of 18 title scenes, 20 including the two quotes at the very beginning. It started with the quotes then went to the main production company(Columbia), the production, who the film was by, finally the cast. They showed two cast members then the main title, Gattaca, then the rest of the cast. It is assumed that the two first cast members listed are the main actors. Then finally, the other important people that added to the film at the end. 2.  What connotations do the images carry?  ( how  do you they make you feel) The imaging at the start is most just blue screen.
