REFLECTION(CCR)

Creative Critical Reflection 1.       How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?    My project shows character and challenges conventions by using a repetitive aspect to the commercial. We had two actors and we started by panning the Nike clothing first then showing the activities that would be done with the Nike apparel. Using two different popular activities we knew we would real in a large audience. It also shows how diverse Nike can be, since we used to different athletes.    2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?  My product engages with the fitness world. Nike is a fitness-based product, meaning our commercial had to appeal to it’s audience. My commercial consists of fitness activities and the strength that Nike provides these activities with. Because of the commercial’s fast pase and fast editing, it would be considered a real Nike commercial. Nike provides

Final Commercial Product!

This was my first ever time filming a commercial. I enjoyed the process. It was interesting because of my lack of filming skills. Even though I didn't really know what to do, it was fun. I enjoyed the editing process as well because I have never edited something before. It was fun to see how everything turned out in the end. I enjoyed that I acted, filmed, and edited. This is because I did a lot for this small project to gain knowledge for the future ones. In the end I think my commercial turned out pretty good. I think my teammates had fun as well.

Redoing past edits

Today in class when I sat down, I decided to watch the commercial. I realized that the commercial was 5 seconds too short. Our goal time was 30 seconds. We had to fit all aspects of edits and everything we wrote on the storyboard in that time. I has to go back into my phone and find another clip that would add to the commercial. Not a clip that would look like it didn't belong. I found an extra clip fo the volleyball player. It was another diving to the ground scene. It tied the commercial together and looked like it belonged. We all together had to edit the last clip to math the editing style of the rest of them. I felt like the  past music choice wasn't right for the commercial. We all decided to change it. I researched more nike commercial music choices. I then found a perfect choice that was existing. This song went perfectly with the edits, right when the music dropped the editing became faster. We purposely chose this part of the song so we could get the big drop in the s

Putting all of the shots together

Today me and my team edited the commercial. I don't know much about editing. This was my first real experience editing something like this. My teammate Charlie, did the editing on his computer. We all helped with the process however I sent the files all to his laptop. Me and my team all viewed the footage today in class. We all went with the storyboard and put the clip of the shoes rising to the ball first. This shot was a full panorama of our actor. Me and my them then decided to slow down the next clip of the football flying in the air. I had to pick the right footage for this one because I shot this scene multiple times. Once my group and I finished editing the football scenes we decided to zoom into the football and blackout the screen. This would cut to our volleyball scenes. My group used the same concept as the football scenes and rose from the volleyball players shoes to up where the ball was. Our Nike prop for the volleyball was the kneepads, so I used special affects to

Review and Reshoot Day

I thought on our last filming day that we wouldn't have enough shots for our commericial.  However me and my group looked over the footage in class today. We ended up finding that we didn't need a second day for filming. As we looked at all the clips we were scared the commercial was going to be too short. But we found a way to make the commercial 30 seconds. Since I had all of the clips on my phone, I sent the clips to everybody in the group. One of the team members, Charlie started editing so we could see if the clips were really long enough. We decided as a group which clips to use. We had two different areas for the shots. We used multiple clips of the football scenes. However fewer scenes for the volleyball clips. With all of the class time we finished editing the commercial and we decided different music options and different cuts for the scenes to make. We researched different Nike commercials and how they were produced. Using this information we tried to replicate this
