Had so much fun!



Finally! We finished the music video. It was a lot of hard but fun work. I don't think the final result is perfect but it really has effort. I believe that my production skills have increased. This is because I have done two major projects at this point. I feel like editing and producing the music video was different from a commercial. The music video was much harder and in depth. I enjoyed filming the commercial more because it was more spontaneous and integrate. My favorite part of making pieces like the commercial and the music video, is the filming part. I feel like I am best at this side of production. My weak side is editing. I have never edited before this year. I still find it very hard and frustrating. I have learned a lot from my teammates and I am happy I am with them. With the music video I feel like we were creative however stayed within the Ice Cube vibe. I like when we made a scene of the actor eating breakfast while it came up in the lyrics. Overall filming is something I'm learning and getting better at. Even though it's annoying sometimes. I am planning on picking the same teammates for the future. We are growing as a team.

The title of the movie was presented more in the middle. What images are prioritized in the opening sequences? The first prioritized images are those of the neighborhood that the story takes place, views of neighbors walking their dogs and watering their lawns. We would love to use good lighting, creative scripts, many interactions, voiceovers. We would love to get plenty of actors for this comedy film as well, to create many different funny characters.  What elements do not appeal to you and why wouldn't you use them? Some comedies use funky costumes and crazy makeup. I would want to steer away from that to build a better quality film.

Planning the music video!

    Props: Since my group and I decided to film a music video for the song It Was A Good Day by ICE CUBE, the props we will include is basketballs, slushies from 7-11, and an alarm clock. We will be using other props as well, but they have not yet been determined. Costumes: In the music video, we will have all our group members in the video. For the scene where were at the park, I will wear athletic clothes for when I play basketball. I will wear sneakers, shorts, and a tank top. The actors will wear what they want for the scenes because the music wants to show that the actors are having a good day just being themselves. The music video will show that it like any other good day. Schedule: On 11/12/21: Me and my group research conventions of music videos and the song, It Was a Good Day.
