Production: Filming with Riana

Day one of filming! Me and Riana have never done a project before together, so we are excited. We knew beforehand we would mostly film at her house and around the area. We needed everyday backgrounds for the scenes, like the kitchen, living room, ext. Once we got there we set up our story boards and our notes for each scene, they really helped. The first scene was the Father screaming at the child also the actor for the first few scenes has to look younger or be going because the daughter is young in the script. We tried to film more near night time or at night time. This only gave as an alloyed period we could film. Our actor for the father wore dirty clothes and looked beat up. We start filming from far away and move in. We also want to muffle the sound here so it’s not harsh on the film. Once we filmed the dad screaming and filmed the area around to introduce the setting, we moved to the next scenes. We had the younger actor holding a stuffed animal and crying in their room. We had to change locations for this scene. We needed it to be pretty dark but light enough to see the emotion in the actors face. We wanted a more slow filming style at this part of the film,

so we really focused on slow, precise filming. Those first 2 scenes were pretty fast to get the shots but the next scene was more different to film. We wanted to film dark silhouettes to show a time pass and play the music louder at this point. We went into the laundry room and a few other places but it was hard to catch the shadows. It’s pretty late at this point and the other scenes are more in the day time so we decide to finish. We sent the footage to each other to review.
